WHAT MAKES DART UNIQUE?
Why is DART different? Because it is. Very different. It's your plant room in the palm of your hand.
Revolutionising industrial insights: DART low-cost remote condition monitoring & ambient sensing. The future of drive management is here.
25 variables | 16 different drives | 1 DART unit | better maintenance decisions | predictability has never been this exciting.
You'll be scoring a bullseye for your operation with DART. Normal drive monitoring devices (and there are numerous versions) will communicate the status of the drive. That's a given. They'll advise if parameters are being exceeded and you'll be notified in advance of any potential issues which could affect its performance - and so your production. But consider... when the problem in your plant room becomes so bad that it's impacting on your equipment, things may already have reached an advanced stage. DART monitors both the drive AND its ambient surroundings. If the levels of hydrogen sulphide (or dust, or temperature or humidity) in your control room start to rise, DART knows. And so will you. Because it'll phone home to tell you (it's good to talk).
Other remote monitoring systems sound good - until you realise they don't do this. And DART does. Every 5 seconds. And it's all encrypted and password protected.
The benefits of predictive as opposed to reactive maintenance:
- Avoids breakdowns and the downtime associated with them
- Allows better management of ABB inverters across their lifespan
- All but eliminates the costs associated with breakdowns
- Forms part of a comprehensive asset health and failure prediction system
- Prevents potential environmental issues of plant failure
- Means a zen-like, stress-free environment for your engineers & plant managers - especially on unmanned sites.
What can I do with DART?
It's next level proactive, predictive maintenance. With DART you can monitor up to 16 inverters from one unit. You can mix and match compatible ABB inverters on the same DART device (currently we're also developing DART units for use with both Danfoss and Siemens inverters). Open the box and it's plug and play ready as it comes with a ready to use 4G multi-network SIM, 2 years' support and subscription and a 5 year warranty. It has options for LAN or WLAN ports, can be din rail, wall or pole mounted and has its data fully encrypted on the Microsoft Azure platform. Not only will you have installed machine condition monitoring with DART, you'll actually have a comprehensive, pro active, complete ambient monitoring system. In real time. In short, 'Big Brother' style surveillance.
Small, affordable, practical...and brilliant
You can trend up to 25 variables and receive alerts via email when your specified inverter or environmental conditions are exceeded. This all sounds great. But what you're really doing with a DART device is keeping your plant and your production safe . It's like having your very own digital babysitter who will rapidly alert you to even the smallest, potentially damaging, deviation from your drives' ideal environment. It even auto detects the ABB drive type...
Software updates are carried out remotely ie 'over the air'. So won't be prompted to download. DART keeps itself up to date.
What can I measure with my DART?
LOTS! That's what makes it unique among monitoring devices. See below what your DART will alert you to.
Live online monitoring and alarms for up to 25 variables & 16 drives - from 1 DART unit (you can even mix and match drive types)
- Motor speed, torque, current
- Output power
- Inverter temperature
- Humidity
- PM
- H2S
- Inverter Count
- Analogue inlet and outlet pressure
- Inlet filter replacement alert
Can I only use DART with ABB drives?
DART was originally designed for use with ABB inverters, but, from the outset, it was apparent that it could be modified for use with other manufacturers' drives. In fact, there was a demand from customers that we do this. Engineers we spoke to had different drives on different sites - and they wanted the same ability to monitor them all.
To this end we're also developing DART for use with both Danfoss and Siemens drives. Already underway, we expect to trial and take these units to market shortly. We'd love to hear from you if you'd like to be one of the first companies involved when these Danfoss and Siemens DART units are ready for the marketplace.
